Nicola Gurr, Associate
Nicola trained as a nurse at The London Hospital, Whitechapel, specialising as a theatre nurse.
After working in London, Bristol and Edinburgh she left nursing to take a history degree (MA at Edinburgh University) and a Masters in the History
of Medicine (MPhil at Glasgow University).
Nicola returned to the NHS as a management trainee, starting her management career using her clinical and managerial experiences to good effect.
Nicola’s roles have included leading contract and performance management (including of challenged providers); rolling out large county-wide transformation projects; undertaking investigations and leading CCG teams in ensuring providers enact their CQC recovery plans.
She has led multi-disciplinary teams that have included clinicians
(including GPs, consultants, nurses and pharmacists), public health professionals and commissioners.
Nicola has worked with Facere Melius on the following assignments:
Rapid roll-out of Risk Management training at and NHS Foundation Trust
Implementing the new model constitution for a CCG
Governance review of a countywide not for profit care provider
Nicola has also worked independently on:
Developed and delivered training on leadership and stress management
Worked with local charities and small independent providers on tender submissions for NHS and local government work
