Geraldine Lavery, Associate

Geraldine is an experienced non-executive director who held a director and trustee role on the board of a provider of nursing, residential and home care for over seven years. This included appointment as the senior independent director and chair of the quality committee, as well as membership of a number of other board committees. She also worked as a specialist advisor with the Care Quality Commission, where she provided advice and input for the Commission’s regulatory inspections, including the well-led framework. She has held an executive director of quality governance role in the NHS, and other senior management roles in both the NHS and in healthcare regulation. Geraldine is passionate about the provision of safe, quality care in both the NHS and the care sector. She is experienced in supporting organisations to improve in these areas through leadership and management development, implementation of effective governance systems and regulatory compliance. She has worked at both strategic and operational level. She has led a number of independent investigations both in the health and social care sectors and for a global charity.

  • Independent investigation into paediatric death in NHS care

  • Governance review at an NHS foundation trust
